History
An ensemble that bears witness to the life of a mountain parish between the 16th and 19th centuries. Each saint has a precise function and responds to a need for protection to prevent or relieve evils and calamities. The devotions practised in the chapels and oratories are linked to agro-pastoral activity, passage, and life in the mountains. Generally of rectangular plan, the chapels have neither an apse nor a recess to mark the choir. The lateral walls form an advancement over the facade which they frame. Few wall paintings have survived, except for the chapel of Saint-Jean-Baptiste which presents a composition of the late 16th century.
