History
Stone quarry exploited between the Middle Ages and the 20th century, used as underground accommodation by soldiers of the First World War and representative of the creuttes of the Chemin des Dames. The quarry was successively occupied by the Germans, French and Americans. The walls are covered with sculptures and graffiti executed by quarriers of the 18th and 19th centuries (statue, model of gateway, way of the cross), as well as by soldiers of the First World War.
