Historique

History
Romanesque edifice which has preserved its original chevet. The nave and the southern chapel opening into the two first western bays date from the 15th century. In the 19th century, the bell tower and the roof were restored by the architect S. de Mérandot. At the same period, the paintings of the chevet and the apse were refreshed. The west facade opens with a portal of flamboyant gothic style whose torus voussures rest on polygonal capitals decorated with foliage. This portal is surmounted by an ogee arch, framed by two pinacles with fleurons. Inside, the nave and southern chapel are covered with rib vaults with cavetto ribs, resting on capitals and corbels ornamented with fantastic figures. A painted decoration of the 15th century covers the walls. It represents, in the apse, a Christ in glory surrounded by the four symbols of the evangelists; saint Martin and saint George; the martyrdom of saint Blaise. In the nave, the Annunciation; saint Michael slaying the demon; the Crucifixion; the Last Judgment. In the southern chapel, the Last Supper and the martyrdom of saint Sebastian.
