Historique

History
The castle attributed to François Mansart, was built in 1629, as well as the enclosed estate. The castle with a main dwelling flanked by two pavilions built on a slight rise is very characteristic of constructions from the end of the reign of Louis XIII. Despite the improvement works of the 19th century, it is still very representative of this robust but carefully executed architecture. The park was redesigned in the 18th century, perspectives were created extending outside the estate beyond the sunken fence. Within its land area and in its composition, its main lines are preserved, including the boundary. In the 19th century, it was modified by Bühler (addition of the ornamental water and the lower garden). The entire range of outbuildings, constructed by Alexandre Pinchon and E. Boulanger in the second half of the 19th century, are of lesser interest, except with regard to the great stables realized according to an ambitious design with their great hall lit by a glass roof and their ample wings in hemicycle form. The interest of this castle comes above all from its furniture, an exceptional ensemble of which it is beyond doubt that in part it was designed or acquired for this castle and has not left it since the 18th century.
