Chapelle reconstruite à l'emplacement d'un oratoire du 17e siècle, érigé sur le site de l'ancien ermitage où vécut Saint-Rouin, fondateur de l'abbaye de Beaulieu-sur-Argonne. Construite de 1954 à 1961 (consacrée le 22 mai 1961) par l'architecte du couvent du Saulchoir, le Père L.-B. Rayssiguier, disciple de Le Corbusier également co-auteur de la chapelle de Vence. Le gros oeuvre en béton décoffré brut est confié à l'entreprise Berthold de Dun-sur-Meuse. Conçu comme un autel central, l'édifice de plan trapézoïdal présente un volume cubique sur pilotis en béton brut de décoffrage, percé de baies au tracé géométrique. La couverture en terrasse est dominée par un campanile au pied duquel est plantée une croix en aluminium de 7 mètres de haut. Les vitraux furent réalisés en 1959, d'après les dessins d'un japonais de dix ans, Kimié Bando. Un retable datant du 17e siècle, classé en 1972, est situé dans l'enclos.

History
Chapel rebuilt on the site of a 17th-century oratory, erected on the site of the former hermitage where Saint-Rouin, founder of the abbey of Beaulieu-sur-Argonne, lived. Built from 1954 to 1961 (consecrated 22 May 1961) by the architect of the Saulchoir convent, Father L.-B. Rayssiguier, disciple of Le Corbusier and also co-author of the chapel of Vence. The structural work in bare concrete formwork was entrusted to the Berthold company of Dun-sur-Meuse. Designed as a central altar, the trapezoidal-plan building presents a cubic volume on bare concrete formwork pillars, pierced with openings of geometric design. The terrace roof is dominated by a campanile at the foot of which stands an aluminium cross 7 metres high. The stained glass windows were made in 1959, after drawings by a ten-year-old Japanese, Kimié Bando. A 17th-century altarpiece, classified in 1972, is located within the enclosure.
