La paroisse devrait sa naissance à l'établissement d'ermites envoyés de l'abbaye de Saint-Martin-de-Tours dès le 5e ou 6e siècle. L'édifice actuel présente, dans les murs de la nef, des restes importants d'un petit appareil qui pourrait remonter au 11e siècle. Au 12e siècle, la porte occidentale a été diminuée de hauteur avec la construction d'un arc. Le choeur et la chapelle seigneuriale ont été édifiés au 16e siècle. A l'intérieur, l'édifice conserve des peintures murales dont la plus ancienne remonte à la fin du 12e siècle, et représente la comparution de Saint-Christophe devant le roi Dannus. Une deuxième campagne de peintures, au 14e siècle, figure le Jugement dernier ainsi qu'une scène avec un chevalier. Au 15e siècle a été peinte la figure monumentale de Saint-Christophe. Au 19e siècle, un décor de pilastres en trompe l'oeil vient recouvrir la partie basse des peintures anciennes.

History
The parish owes its birth to the establishment of hermits sent from the abbey of Saint-Martin-de-Tours from the 5th or 6th century. The present building presents, in the walls of the nave, substantial remains of small masonry which could date back to the 11th century. In the 12th century, the western door was reduced in height with the construction of an arch. The choir and the seigneurial chapel were built in the 16th century. In the interior, the building preserves wall paintings, the oldest of which dates to the end of the 12th century, and represents the appearance of Saint Christopher before king Dannus. A second campaign of paintings, in the 14th century, depicts the Last Judgment as well as a scene with a knight. In the 15th century was painted the monumental figure of Saint Christopher. In the 19th century, a decoration of trompe-l'oeil pilasters came to cover the lower part of the old paintings.
