History
The church, which dates from the 12th century, benefited from the impetus for renovation and construction of the 15th and 16th centuries. The building which comprised a panelled nave and a choir with a hemicycle chevet, was enlarged at the beginning of the 16th century by an aisle built in a style blending Gothic and Renaissance repertoires. The patronage of Florimond Robertet, treasurer of France, at the beginning of the 16th century also touches the interior decoration whose wall paintings offer a rare representation of the Tale of the Three Dead and the Three Living. The subjects represented may plausibly be linked to an epidemic. The church has undergone few transformations since the 16th century, except for the slate spire rebuilt in the 19th century.
