Historique
Au début du 12e siècle, l'église est mentionnée comme possession de l'abbaye de Déols. Un prieuré-cure bénédictin devait exister. L'édifice se présente comme une église rurale du 12e siècle à laquelle furent ajoutées au sud une chapelle (16e siècle) et à l'ouest un clocher-porche (1861). L'église romane, sans transept, comprend une nef rectangulaire couverte au 16e siècle d'une voûte en berceau lambrissée, prolongée par une vaste abside rectangulaire terminée par un chevet plat. L'abside conserve des chapiteaux historiés. Un décor peint fragmentaire se développe en deux registres parallèles sur les versants nord et sud de la voûte du choeur. Les scènes représentées sont tirées de l'enfance du Christ : Annonciation, Visitation, Nativité au nord ; Voyage et Adoration des mages au sud.

History
At the beginning of the 12th century, the church is mentioned as a possession of the abbey of Déols. A Benedictine priory-cure must have existed. The building presents itself as a rural church of the 12th century to which were added to the south a chapel (16th century) and to the west a porch tower (1861). The Romanesque church, without transept, comprises a rectangular nave covered in the 16th century with a barrel vault with wooden ceiling, extended by a vast rectangular apse terminated by a flat chevet. The apse retains historiated capitals. Fragmentary painted decoration develops in two parallel registers on the north and south slopes of the vault of the choir. The scenes represented are taken from the infancy of Christ: Annunciation, Visitation, Nativity to the north; Journey and Adoration of the Magi to the south.
