Historique
Le Tennis-Club de Dinard est intimement lié à l'histoire du développement de la station balnéaire de Dinard : celle-ci, lancée à partir de 1850, s'est caractérisée très vite par l'importance d'une population anglaise de niveau social évidemment élevé. Sans le développement d'équipements de loisirs nécessaires, le succès de la station aurait été bien compromis. C'est à Monsieur Lesage, ancien maire de Dinan et propriétaire de la villa Beauregard depuis 1853, que revient le mérite d'avoir permis la contruction, en 1879, du Dinard Lawn Tennis Club, en cédant les jardins de la villa et les terrains qu'il avait acquis à côté, pour y installer les courts. Le Tennis-Club a très vite connu un grand succès, et a été fréquenté par de grands joueurs, d'abord uniquement anglais, puis français, avec le succès grandissant de la Coupe de Dinard. Détruit en grande partie pendant la guerre, il a été réaménagé.

The Dinard Tennis Club is intimately linked to the history of the development of the seaside resort of Dinard: the resort, launched from 1850 onwards, was very quickly characterised by the importance of an English population of obviously high social level. Without the development of necessary leisure facilities, the success of the resort would have been greatly compromised. It is to Monsieur Lesage, former mayor of Dinan and owner of the villa Beauregard since 1853, that credit is due for having enabled the construction, in 1879, of the Dinard Lawn Tennis Club, by ceding the gardens of the villa and the land he had acquired beside it, to install the courts there. The Tennis Club very quickly achieved great success, and was frequented by great players, first exclusively English, then French, with the growing success of the Dinard Cup.
