Historique

History
This residence, built in Gothic style at the end of the 15th century on the site of a former castle, is later enlarged: construction of a wing and probable landscaping of the park under Louis XIV; construction in 1736 of the 18th-century pavilion and adaptation of the 15th-century main dwelling, notably with panellings which would survive until 1975. During the Revolution, the castle placed under sequestration, deteriorates. It is taken in hand again in the 19th century with the installation, near the castle, of a spinning mill currently in ruins. Restoration is undertaken in 1974-1975. Burned the same year, the 15th-century part is restored in 1976. Gardens are created in 1985 before the castle. The estate comprises a principal dwelling built between the river and the moats; outbuildings to the west; buildings for residential use to the north; a wooded park to the north-east; gardens to the north; a meadow delimited by a pond and a stream to the south. The main dwelling is composed of three adjoining blocks: a 15th-century main dwelling flanked by a tower to the north, a 17th-century wing and an 18th-century pavilion. The 15th-century main dwelling has retained many ancient elements, moulded windows with crossed accolades, a stairwell tower and a door in flamboyant Gothic style ornamented with sculptures and mouldings terminated by an arch. The 17th-century wing has been little modified. The 18th-century pavilion presents a classical façade in exposed stone. A set of outbuildings from the 15th century, rearranged in the 17th or 18th, separates to the west the vegetable garden and the former spinning mill from the gardens and residential buildings to the north. Inside, the ground floor retains monumental 15th-century fireplaces and 18th-century panellings. Some ancient fireplaces come from elsewhere.
