Historique
Pavillon conçu par la société du constructeur Jean Prouvé, en association avec l'ingénieur Michel Hugonet, à l'occasion d'une exposition organisée par "l'Aluminium Français" pour commémorer le centenaire de l'aluminium. Monté en 1954 sur les berges de la Seine, entre le pont de l'Alma et le pont des Invalides, ce pavillon, long de 150 mètres et large de 15 mètres et conçu comme une sorte de nouvelle "galerie des machines", est consacré à la présentation de la fabrication et des transformations de l'aluminium. Cédé aux administrateurs de la Foire commerciale de Lille, le pavillon a été installé à la fin de l'année 1956 dans l'enceinte de la foire (cad. HV 11) où il sert de hall d'expositions jusqu'en 1993. Après sa désaffectation, il a été menacé de destruction, puis inscrit sur l'inventaire supplémentaire des MH (à Lille). Le pavillon a été remonté dans le parc des expositions de Paris-Nord Villepinte à la fin de 1999.

History
Pavilion designed by the company of constructor Jean Prouvé, in association with engineer Michel Hugonet, on the occasion of an exhibition organised by "Aluminium Français" to commemorate the centenary of aluminium. Erected in 1954 on the banks of the Seine, between the Alma bridge and the Invalides bridge, this pavilion, 150 metres long and 15 metres wide and designed as a sort of new "gallery of machines", was devoted to the presentation of the manufacture and transformation of aluminium. Ceded to the administrators of the Commercial Fair of Lille, the pavilion was installed at the end of 1956 within the fairground (cad. HV 11) where it served as an exhibition hall until 1993. After its decommissioning, it was threatened with destruction, then registered on the supplementary inventory of historic monuments (at Lille). The pavilion was reassembled in the exhibition park of Paris-Nord Villepinte at the end of 1999.
