Etablissement des Récollets à Douai en 1618. En 1621, construction du couvent et d'une petite chapelle (1622). Construction d'une nouvelle église au début du 18e siècle (1706-1709) , consacrée en 1712. Couvent affecté aux séances publiques de la société populaire en 1795, chapelle transformée en fabrique de salpêtre en 1797. Eglise agrandie par l'architecte Grigny de 1852 à 1856. Le décor intérieur est un pastiche du 18e siècle.

History
Establishment of the Recollects at Douai in 1618. In 1621, construction of the convent and a small chapel (1622). Construction of a new church in the early 18th century (1706-1709), consecrated in 1712. Convent assigned to public sessions of the popular society in 1795, chapel transformed into a saltpetre factory in 1797. Church enlarged by architect Grigny from 1852 to 1856. The interior decoration is a pastiche of the 18th century.
