Certains pensent qu'il s'agit d'une construction du 18e siècle d'importation irlandaise. D'après le cadastre et par son architecture, la métairie ronde semble plutôt dater du 19e siècle. Elle abritait une vingtaine de bovins et avait à l'époque comme annexe la ferme du Blanchissage. Par son plan circulaire, cette métairie s'apparente à un type d'architecture rurale usité pour le logement des bêtes, comme préconisé au 19e siècle. Cette métairie comporte deux éléments : un hangar d'accès rectangulaire reposant sur des piliers en briques ; la rotonde comportant une grange circulaire voûtée au centre, une galerie annulaire communiquant avec la rotonde et ouvrant sur son pourtour sur des compartiments à bestiaux. Ces compartiments présentent des pans coupés qui donnent une forme polygonale au volume externe de l'édifice. Le voûtement de la galerie et des compartiments adopte un relief en dents de scie.

History
Some believe this to be an 18th-century construction of Irish import. According to the cadastre and by its architecture, the round métairie appears rather to date from the 19th century. It housed about twenty cattle and had at the time as an annex the Blanchissage farm. By its circular plan, this métairie is akin to a type of rural architecture used for the housing of beasts, as recommended in the 19th century. This métairie comprises two elements: a rectangular access shed resting on brick pillars; the rotunda comprising a circular vaulted barn at the centre, an annular gallery communicating with the rotunda and opening around its perimeter onto compartments for livestock. These compartments present cut angles which give a polygonal form to the external volume of the building. The vaulting of the gallery and compartments adopts a sawtooth relief.
