Immeuble de logements commandé par l'Office intercommunal d'Habitations à loyers modérés (HLM) de Briey à l'architecte Le Corbusier, réalisé de 1955 à 1957. C'est la troisième version de la Cité Radieuse, après celle de Marseille (voir notice PA00081373) et de Nantes-Rezé (voir notice PA00108783). Elle s'intègre à un programme plus vaste, avec un groupe scolaire, confié à l'architecte Georges-Henri Pingusson. L'unité de Briey est la réplique exacte de celle de Rezé, construite en voiles de béton calculés par les ingénieurs Séchaud et Metz, mais sans rue commerçante. Le nombre d'appartements est cependant plus important : 321 au lieu de 294. Réutilisé par l'école d'architecture de Nancy.

History
Residential building commissioned by the Intercommunal Office of Low-Rent Housing (HLM) of Briey from the architect Le Corbusier, realized from 1955 to 1957. It is the third version of the Radiant City, after that of Marseille (see notice PA00081373) and Nantes-Rezé (see notice PA00108783). It integrates into a larger programme, with a school group, entrusted to the architect Georges-Henri Pingusson. The Briey unit is the exact replica of that of Rezé, built in concrete panels calculated by the engineers Séchaud and Metz, but without a shopping street.
