Etabli sur une terrasse à flanc de coteau face à la commune de Clermont Beauregard, le château de la Gaubertie fut reconstruit à la fin du 15e siècle sur les ruines d'un premier édifice. Très endommagé au cours des guerres de religion, il connut une seconde restauration à la fin du 17e siècle ; c'est alors que fut notamment aménagée sa chapelle dont une plaque rapelle la bénédiction en 1692. Dans le dernier quart du 19e siècle, une ultime restauration fut confiée à l'architecte bordelais Alfred Duprat qui remit les intérieurs au goût du jour et remania le vaste ensemble de communs. Le château donne un aperçu de l'évolution stylistique du 16e siècle à la fin du 19e siècle. La partie néo-gothique est dûe à l'architecte bordelais Duprat.

History
Established on a terrace on a hillside facing the commune of Clermont Beauregard, the castle of la Gaubertie was rebuilt at the end of the 15th century on the ruins of a first building. Severely damaged during the Wars of Religion, it underwent a second restoration at the end of the 17th century; it was then notably that its chapel was arranged, a plaque on which recalls the blessing in 1692. In the last quarter of the 19th century, a final restoration was entrusted to the Bordeaux architect Alfred Duprat who updated the interiors and remodelled the vast range of outbuildings. The castle gives an overview of the stylistic evolution from the 16th century to the end of the 19th century. The neo-gothic part is due to the Bordeaux architect Duprat.
