The cathedral is articulated according to a simple Latin cross plan, of modest dimensions, with a vessel divided into three naves of four bays with ribbed vaults and a transept presenting a dome with lantern at the crossing. Its multiple alterations testify to the complex history of the diocese of Tarentaise. The intermediate section presents historical interest (notably the presence of the coat of arms of archbishop Millet de Challes) while the bell tower constitutes a good example of the "Sardinian style", characteristic of Savoyard religious architecture of the 19th century.
