History
Roundhouse of the locomotive depot built for the PLM Railway Company, from 1908 to 1910, to cope with increasing traffic around Chambéry. Built by the Fourchambault Foundries and Workshops Company (Nièvre), this monumental roundhouse of 108 metres in diameter was capable of sheltering up to 72 locomotives. It rests on a metal framework of 18 pillars, closed by an external stone wall and crowned with a rounded lantern light.
