Première oeuvre de cet architecte, c'est également le premier immeuble d'habitation de Lyon entièrement construit en béton armé (et appelé le "gratte-ciel" par les Lyonnais dès sa construction). L'ingénieur Blazin de l'entreprise Hennebique étudie le projet, sa réalisation étant confiée à l'entreprise Grangette frères de Roanne, concessionnaire du système Hennebique. La façade est soulignée par des mosaïques de faïence incrustées dans le crépi.

History
Apartment building of seven storeys constructed in 1911 by architect Emmanuel Cateland, also owner of the land and promoter of the operation. First work of this architect, it is also the first residential building in Lyon entirely constructed in reinforced concrete (and called the "skyscraper" by the Lyonnais from its construction). Engineer Blazin from the Hennebique company studies the project, its realisation being entrusted to the Grangette frères company of Roanne, concessionaire of the Hennebique system. The façade is emphasised by mosaics of earthenware set into the render.
