The oldest part of the building dates to the 16th century. The hotel presents two distinct bodies of buildings, one facing the street, built or rebuilt in the 18th century with fittings in the 19th century; the other facing the courtyard and dating from the 16th century. This residence bears witness to the first Renaissance in Grenoble. The 18th-century part presents one of the finest examples of private Grenoble architecture of this period.
