Historique
La première mention du château remonte à l'année 1351. La maison forte s'élève, alors, dans la partie septentrionale du château actuel. L'écrivain Paul Claudel en fait l'acquisition en 1927. A sa mort, en 1955, il sera enterré au fond du parc, conformément à son vu. En raison de ses modifications et agrandissements successifs, l'édifice présente, aujourd'hui, un plan atypique en forme de « P ». Trois ailes dessinent une cour trapézoïdale cantonnée dans son angle nord-est par une tour ronde du 14ème siècle. A l'intérieur, quelques éléments du mobilier rappellent la carrière de Paul Claudel en Chine mais aussi à Prague ou à Bruxelles. Outre le château, sont disséminés plusieurs bâtiments de communs dans un parc composé de prés, sous-bois et verger, édifiés au 18ème siècle.

History
The first mention of the castle dates back to the year 1351. The fortified house then stands in the northern part of the present castle. The writer Paul Claudel acquired it in 1927. At his death in 1955, he was buried at the far end of the park, in accordance with his wish. Due to its successive modifications and enlargements, the building now presents an atypical plan in the shape of a "P". Three wings form a trapezoidal courtyard flanked in its north-east corner by a round tower from the 14th century.
