Valeur archéologique témoignant de l'occupation du site de Margerie de manière quasi-continue de la préhistoire au 16e siècle. History
Archaeological value testifying to the occupation of the Margerie site in an almost continuous manner from prehistory to the 16th century. The deanery of Saint-Pierre corresponds to a former benefice of the order of Cluny which was subject to the priory of Saint-Saturnin-du-Port, now Pont-Saint-Esprit. Traces of a building, perhaps of Carolingian period, have been identified, the present building being constructed at its location. In the early 14th century, the regular priory becomes a secular priory subject to the bishop of Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux.
