En 1383, Amédée VI de Savoie lègue son château, situé à un emplacement stratégique aux confins de la Savoie, aux Chartreux. Nombreux remaniements aux 17e et 18e siècles. La chapelle castrale, décorée de peintures murales, est antérieure à la chartreuse. L'église et le petit cloître sont terminées en 1395, les galeries au nord de l'église à la fin du 16e siècle. Le réfectoire est décoré au 17e siècle d'une peinture murale représentant la Cène. La maison du prieur date du 17e siècle. En 1791, la chartreuse est abandonnée par les moines. Le site est fortifié à partir de 1825 et démilitarisé en 1933.

In 1383, Amadeus VI of Savoy bequeaths his castle, situated in a strategic location at the confines of Savoy, to the Carthusians. Numerous alterations in the 17th and 18th centuries. The castle chapel, decorated with murals, predates the charterhouse. The church and the small cloister are completed in 1395, the galleries to the north of the church at the end of the 16th century.
