Maison-forte aux 13e et 14e siècles, ruiné après les guerres de la fin du 16e siècle, le château est remanié et agrandi au début du 17e siècle. Il subsiste d'importants vestiges de l'ancienne maison-forte et des communs : moulin et canal de dérivation, remparts et entrée, tour, fenêtres à meneaux... Le corps de logis, grand quadrilatère érigé au 17e siècle, est recouvert d'un toit à la Philibert Delorme, à la charpente en bois de châtaignier entièrement chevillée.

History
Fortified house in the 13th and 14th centuries, ruined after the wars at the end of the 16th century, the castle is remodelled and enlarged in the early 17th century. Substantial remains subsist of the former fortified house and outbuildings: mill and diversion channel, ramparts and entrance, tower, windows with mullions... The main dwelling, a large quadrilateral erected in the 17th century, is covered with a roof in the Philibert Delorme style, with roof structure entirely of chestnut wood pegged.
