History
From the 13th century onwards, vine cultivation is widespread in the Laonnois. The development of transport and the arrival of phylloxera cause the decline of the Laonnois as a wine-producing region; many wine-houses are destroyed during the First World War. The wine-houses of Vorges are representative of daily life in the 17th and 18th centuries. The main house, rebuilt in the 18th century, is surrounded by outbuildings where the old presses are found. The stone framework and brick infill refer to the Louis XIII period.
