Historique
Église bâtie presque entièrement en pierres blanches, hormis les tourelles de façade et quelques raccords de brique, a été en majeure partie édifiée au 16e (chœur et base du donjon) et au 17e siècle (nef et parties hautes du donjon). Le donjon-clocher est renforcé de deux tourelles en encorbellement, et repose sur un porche, aux ouvertures latérales bouchées. La nef est pourvue au sud d'une chapelle formant croisillon de transept et présentant deux échauguettes à poivrières. Sur le flanc sud de la nef en symétrie de la chapelle latérale, une autre tour cylindrique accoste le mur gouttereau. L'édifice présente une grande homogénéité stylistique en dépit des diverses campagnes de construction qui la caractérisent. Plusieurs phases de fortification s'y juxtaposent, depuis les éléments défensifs relativement symboliques de la chapelle latérale jusqu'aux tourelles du donjon-porche, témoigne de fortifications ultimes (17e siècle) qui rapprochent cet édifice d'autres églises thiérachiennes plus septentrionales (Macquigny, Fontaine-les-Vervins).

History
Church built almost entirely in white stone, except for the façade turrets and some brick repairs, was built mostly in the 16th century (choir and base of the keep) and in the 17th century (nave and upper parts of the keep). The bell tower keep is reinforced by two overhanging turrets and rests on a porch with blocked lateral openings. The nave is provided to the south with a chapel forming a transept crossing and presenting two pepperpot corner towers. On the south side of the nave in symmetry with the lateral chapel, another cylindrical tower is attached to the wall. The building presents great stylistic homogeneity despite the various construction campaigns that characterize it. Several phases of fortification are juxtaposed there, from the relatively symbolic defensive elements of the lateral chapel to the turrets of the porch tower, testifying to ultimate fortifications (17th century) which bring this building close to other churches of northern Thiérache (Macquigny, Fontaine-les-Vervins).
