Historique
Couvent édifié de 1624 à 1633 pour la congrégation Notre-Dame, vouée à l'enseignement des jeunes filles. La Révolution a fermé l'établissement qui n'a rouvert qu'en 1808. En 1794, la chapelle fut transformée en corps de garde, puis en salle de vote. Le couvent servit ensuite de prison et devint en 1831 maison de justice et d'arrêt jusqu'en 1973. Le plan initial du couvent a été conservé dans son intégralité. L'église est orientée et à partir d'elle tous les bâtiments conventuels s'ordonnent autour du cloître.

History
Convent built from 1624 to 1633 for the Notre-Dame congregation, devoted to the teaching of young girls. The Revolution closed the establishment, which only reopened in 1808. In 1794, the chapel was converted into a guardroom, then into a voting chamber. The convent subsequently served as a prison and became in 1831 a house of correction and detention until 1973. The original plan of the convent was preserved in its entirety. The church is oriented and from it all the convent buildings are arranged around the cloister.
