Historique
A la mort de Thibaud le Grand, comte de champagne, l'un de ses fils, Hugues, eut en partage le domaine de Chéry Chartreuve. Vers 1130, il fit venir les Prémontrés à Chartreuve où ils fondèrent une abbaye. Suivant l'usage de l'époque, il se forma dans l'enceinte du monastère une communauté de religieuses. A la fin du 12e siècle ou au début du 13e siècle, pour des raisons faciles à comprendre, cette communauté fut transférée sur les hauteurs du plateau, à un endroit qui s'appelle encore les Dames. Sa chapelle romane devenue grange demeure le seul témoin tangible de la présence de cette communauté. Elle remonte visiblement à l'époque de l'installation des religieuses sur les hauteurs.

History
At the death of Thibaud the Great, count of Champagne, one of his sons, Hugues, received in his share the domain of Chéry Chartreuve. Around 1130, he brought the Premonstratensians to Chartreuve where they founded an abbey. Following the custom of the time, a community of nuns formed within the monastery enclosure. At the end of the 12th century or at the beginning of the 13th century, for reasons easy to understand, this community was transferred to the heights of the plateau, to a place that is still called les Dames. Its Romanesque chapel, which became a barn, remains the only tangible witness to the presence of this community. It clearly dates back to the time of the settlement of the nuns on the heights.
