Historique
Edifiés à la fin du 15e siècle puis attribués en 1797 à lhospice des indigents de Laon, les bâtiments furent, pour la plupart, détruits en 1836 et les fossés comblés. Le donjon, de plan quadrangulaire, est conforme à larchitecture castrale du règne de Charles V tout en reprenant certaines caractéristiques des fortifications du 13e siècle. Lintérieur du donjon se compose de cinq étages : deux étages en soubassement renfermant des magasins avec des canonnières ainsi quun puits ; les trois étages au-dessus sont séparés par un plancher et comprennent, entre autres, deux salles pourvues de deux fenêtres à meneaux et coussièges, et deux cabinets de latrines, Le couronnement défensif est constitué dun parapet avec son chaperon de couvrement en calcaire.

History
Erected at the end of the 15th century and then allocated in 1797 to the hospice for the poor of Laon, the buildings were, for the most part, destroyed in 1836 and the moats filled in. The keep, of quadrangular plan, conforms to the castle architecture of the reign of Charles V whilst resuming certain characteristics of the 13th-century fortifications. The interior of the keep is composed of five storeys: two storeys in the basement containing stores with embrasures as well as a well; the three storeys above are separated by a floor and comprise, among other things, two rooms furnished with two mullioned windows and window seats, and two latrines cabinets. The defensive crowning consists of a parapet with its coping of limestone.
