Il constitue un intéressant spécimen d'usine hydraulique de la vallée, dont les affectations successives (mouture du grain, atelier d'optique, scierie) , ont suivi les transformations et vicissitudes de l'économie locale, et plus particulièrement l'essor florissant de l'industrie lunetière dans la région de Songeons, au début de ce siècle. Hormis la roue à aubes, récemment restaurée, le moulin a perdu la plupart de ses mécanismes de meunerie originels.

History
Hydraulic mill situated in the Thérain valley, created in 1837. It constitutes an interesting specimen of a hydraulic mill from the valley, whose successive uses (grain milling, optical workshop, sawmill) followed the transformations and vicissitudes of the local economy, and more particularly the flourishing development of the spectacle-lens industry in the region of Songeons, at the beginning of this century. Apart from the water wheel, recently restored, the mill has lost most of its original milling mechanisms.
