Historique
Le château d'Orrouy, édifié au 15e siècle, a subi de très nombreux remaniements au 19e siècle. Les tourelles en encorbellement qui le flanquent ont été fortement remaniées, sous l'influence du style néogothique. Les parements en parties hautes, les allèges des fenêtres ont été fortement repris, ainsi que la plupart des percements. Une aile, ajoutée au 17e siècle en retour d'équerre, a également été repercée. De cet ensemble particulièrement composite ne subsistent d'authentiquement médiéval que les caves. En revanche, l'intérêt historique de l'édifice est renforcé par le fait que le château fut la propriété du comte Doria, grand collectionneur du 19e siècle et ami des impressionnistes ; c'est ainsi que Corot et Manet fréquentèrent les lieux, et que les peintres Cals et Gustave Colin y résidèrent.

History
The castle of Orrouy, built in the 15th century, underwent very numerous alterations in the 19th century. The corbelled turrets which flank it were heavily remodelled, under the influence of the Neo-Gothic style. The facing in the upper parts, the window sills were heavily reworked, as were most of the openings. A wing, added in the 17th century in right-angled return, was also reopened. Of this particularly composite ensemble there remain authentically medieval only the cellars. On the other hand, the historical interest of the edifice is reinforced by the fact that the castle was the property of Count Doria, great collector of the 19th century and friend of the Impressionists; thus Corot and Manet frequented the place, and the painters Cals and Gustave Colin resided there.
