L'hôtel, construit au 18e siècle, fut jusqu'à la Révolution la surintendance des Bâtiments du Roi et, sous Napoléon Ier, l'hôtel des Relations extérieures. Il a été restauré en 1830. Les jardins, également du 18e siècle, ont été restaurés vers 1920 ; ils comprennent une partie du rempart du 13e siècle.

History
The hotel, built in the 18th century, was until the Revolution the superintendence of the King's Buildings and, under Napoleon I, the hotel of Foreign Relations. It was restored in 1830. The gardens, also from the 18th century, were restored around 1920; they include part of the 13th-century rampart.
