Au nombre des édifices anciens élevés dans la forêt de Compiègne, il y a lieu de signaler la petite chapelle dite de Saint-Corneille, très vraisemblablement dépendance de la célèbre abbaye de Saint-Corneille, dont d'importants vestiges du cloître subsistent encore dans la ville de Compiègne. Cette petite chapelle, malheureusement mutilée, présente encore quelques parties intéressantes. Elle se compose d'une pièce terminée, sur une des faces étroites, par un chevet polygonal. Datant du 13e siècle, l'édifice ne conserve de cette époque que les murs, la porte principale, les bagues qui divisaient les colonnettes adossées aux murs extérieurs et quelques-uns des chapiteaux de ces colonnettes.

History
Among the ancient buildings erected in the forest of Compiègne, mention should be made of the small chapel known as that of Saint-Corneille, most likely a dependency of the famous abbey of Saint-Corneille, of which important vestiges of the cloister still subsist in the town of Compiègne. This small chapel, unfortunately mutilated, still presents some interesting parts. It consists of a room terminated, on one of the narrow faces, by a polygonal chevet. Dating from the 13th century, the building retains from that period only the walls, the main door, the rings which divided the columns set against the exterior walls and some of the capitals of these columns.
