Le conseil municipal de Tonnerre décide en 1902 de construire ce marché pour répondre aux besoins de la population. Une toiture en verre est réalisée, pour renvoyer la lumière sur la mairie. L'intérieur présente la juxtaposition d'une architecture en pierre (pour la halle au blé formant le soubassement de l'hôtel de ville) et d'une architecture en fer et en verre. History
The municipal council of Tonnerre decided in 1902 to build this market to meet the needs of the population. A glass roof was constructed to reflect light onto the town hall. The interior presents the juxtaposition of stone architecture (for the grain hall forming the basement of the town hall) and iron and glass architecture. The inauguration of this building took place on 17 April 1904.
