Historique
Fondée en 1128 puis mise sous la protection du Pape Eugène III en 1147, l'abbaye fut puissante et prospère au moyen-âge. En 1493, Charles VIII en fait une fondation royale. Des vestiges d'un grand intérêt subsistent aujourd'hui tels le réfectoire cistercien du 14ème siècle, la salle et le dortoir des moines, la salle à manger, réaménagés au 18ème siècle, le portail du 18ème siècle ainsi qu'un pigeonnier du 17ème siècle. Le réseau hydraulique cistercien a également été conservé. Le logis des abbés (17ème siècle), le moulin (19ème siècle) ainsi que la grange dîmière du 14ème siècle viennent compléter cet ensemble abbatial.

History
Founded in 1128 and then placed under the protection of Pope Eugène III in 1147, the abbey was powerful and prosperous in the Middle Ages. In 1493, Charles VIII made it a royal foundation. Vestiges of great interest subsist today such as the Cistercian refectory of the 14th century, the hall and dormitory of the monks, the dining room, remodelled in the 18th century, the portal of the 18th century as well as a dovecot of the 17th century. The Cistercian hydraulic network has also been preserved. The abbots' main dwelling (17th century), the mill (19th century) as well as the tithe barn of the 14th century complete this abbatial complex.
