Historique
Situé au pied d'une colline boisée, le château de Faulin a été construit à la fin du 15e siècle, puis remanié à la fin du 16e siècle. Il est constitué du château et de sa basse-cour entourés par une enceinte rectangulaire cantonnée de trois tours circulaires, d'un donjon et d'une tour-escalier sur plan carré. A l'intérieur sont conservées des cheminées toutes différentes et exceptionnelles par la qualité de leur modénature. La plupart des pièces ont conservé leurs plafonds à solives. Dans la tour, la chapelle présente un décor peint du début du 17e siècle ayant pour thème l'enfance du Christ (annonciation, nativité, adoration des mages, présentation au temple) et le couronnement de la Vierge. Le château a conservé une partie du chemin de ronde qui conduit vers le donjon. La poterne est datée 1577. Le domaine très intact (dépendances des 17e et 18e siècles, aménagements agricoles du 19e siècle) est complété par une imposant colombier circulaire.

History
Situated at the foot of a wooded hill, the château de Faulin was constructed at the end of the 15th century, then remodelled at the end of the 16th century. It consists of the château and its outer courtyard surrounded by a rectangular enclosure flanked by three circular towers, a keep and a square-plan staircase tower. Inside are preserved fireplaces all different and exceptional in the quality of their moulding. Most of the rooms have preserved their beam ceilings. In the tower, the chapel presents a painted decoration from the beginning of the 17th century with the theme of the childhood of Christ (annunciation, nativity, adoration of the magi, presentation at the temple) and the coronation of the Virgin. The château has preserved part of the rampart walk which leads towards the keep. The postern is dated 1577. The very intact estate (dependencies of the 17th and 18th centuries, agricultural arrangements of the 19th century) is completed by an imposing circular dovecote.
