History
The tower, constructed in the 12th century on Gallo-Roman substructures, is one of the rare vestiges of the castle destroyed at the end of the 16th century; tower given in 1647 to the Ursulines, then after the Revolution to the Visitandines. Statue placed at the summit of the tower between 1859 and 1862 by the sculptor Quarre.
