Arrêté au 15e siècle, le site est remis à feu au 17e et devient le premier champ d'expérience de Badaud de la Chaussade qui s'est illustré par la création des forges de Guérigny pour la marine royale. Forgeneuve produisit du fer blanc jusqu'en 1852. Depuis le 18e siècle, les différents bâtiments qui constituent la forge n'ont pas été modifiés et restent l'un des rares exemples d'une forge moyenne avant l'ère industrielle. History
Halted in the 15th century, the site was put back into operation in the 17th century and became the first experimental forge of Badaud de la Chaussade, who distinguished himself by the creation of the forges of Guérigny for the royal navy. Forgeneuve produced tinplate until 1852. Since the 18th century, the various buildings that make up the forge have not been modified and remain one of the rare examples of a medium-sized forge before the industrial age.
