Historique

History
Surrounded by two circuits of water-filled moats fed by the river, the castle retains the entire system of its hydraulic facilities comprising a fountain, water channels, fixed bridges and weir bridges, pipes, sluices, and outbuildings. This medieval building was partially destroyed during the Wars of Religion, and rebuilt in the 17th and 19th centuries. Five of the six enclosure towers have disappeared. Of the defensive complex only remain the north-west wing and its tower, as well as the north-east wing in return at right angles. Inside, the castle retains some medieval remains, 19th-century fittings, authentic roof structures and a ceiling with beams and daub trusses.
