Cette maison a été construite de 1973 à 1975 pour l'industriel Louis Sayer par Marcel Breuer, en collaboration avec l'architecte italien Mario Jossa. Breuer, l'un des enseignants de l'école du Bauhaus à Dessau, actif ensuite aux Etats-Unis, est connu pour ses architectures en béton. Les plans de la villa Sayer, qui mettent en oeuvre des voiles de béton armé très minces, datent de 1959. Ils étaient destinés à l'origine à une maison à Vevey (Suisse) pour l'acteur Peter Ustinov, mais non réalisée. History
This house was built from 1973 to 1975 for industrialist Louis Sayer by Marcel Breuer, in collaboration with Italian architect Mario Jossa. Breuer, one of the teachers of the Bauhaus school in Dessau, subsequently active in the United States, is known for his concrete architecture. The plans for the Villa Sayer, which employ very thin reinforced concrete shells, date from 1959. They were originally intended for a house in Vevey (Switzerland) for actor Peter Ustinov, but were not built. The villa comprises items of furniture made by architect and designer Charles Eames. This is the only residential house built in France by Breuer.
