After the demolition of the old castle, a new edifice is constructed from 1769, on the plans of the architect Claude-Nicolas Ledoux. Novelty of the architectural scheme with the disappearance of traditional mansard roofs and the concealment of roofing behind the attic storey. In 1771, the main structure is nearing completion. In 1774, the interior arrangement is carried out by the architect Joseph Devilliers de Maison-Rouge. Then, until 1779, the interior decoration is taken over by the decorative architect Jean-François-Etienne Gilet. The estate is repurchased by the general council of Calvados in 1927, which installs the departmental maternal home there. This new use entails works which remodel the interior arrangements. In 1944, facades and roofing are damaged by bombardment. From 1983, the restoration of the castle is undertaken for the installation of the regional court of audit.
