In the feudal period a simple fief with motte and moats which becomes subsequently a manor. In the 18th century, a new edifice is built on a classical plan to which is added a park. In 1743, the estate is purchased by the philosopher Claude Adrien Hervétius. The castle and its English-style park have remained as they were at that time. In front of the edifice, the courtyard is closed by a wrought iron gate on which are interlaced the initials of the Helvétius and the d'Andlau families. The central body ends, at each extremity, with a projecting building. The interior possesses rooms ornate with woodwork. The outbuildings are arranged around a courtyard.
