Historique
La Motte Fouquet est une ancienne seigneurie de haute et basse justice dont l'origine remonte au 13e siècle. Le château fut construit au 17e siècle sur des vestiges des 15e (tour carrée) et 16e siècles (tourelle accolée à la tour carrée). Les communs ont été construits en 1670 et 1682 par le père des frères Gabriel, architectes originaires d'Argentan. La chapelle fut terminée en 1699 et remplaça un oratoire de 1582. Le moulin non daté du château de la Motte produisait cinq quintaux de farine de blé, seigle, orge, avoine et sarrasin en 1809. Des trois paires de meules attestées en 1888, une seule fonctionnait, produisant six quintaux de farine. Le domaine du château dispose aussi d'une cidrerie de la fin du 17e siècle, qui n'est pas protégée. L'orangerie date de 1804.

History
La Motte Fouquet is a former seigneurial estate with high and low justice rights whose origins date back to the 13th century. The castle was built in the 17th century on remains from the 15th century (square tower) and 16th century (turret adjoining the square tower). The outbuildings were constructed in 1670 and 1682 by the father of the Gabriel brothers, architects from Argentan. The chapel was completed in 1699 and replaced an oratory from 1582. The undated mill at the castle of La Motte produced five quintals of flour from wheat, rye, barley, oats and buckwheat in 1809. Of the three pairs of millstones attested in 1888, only one was functional, producing six quintals of flour. The castle domain also has a cider house from the late 17th century, which is not protected. The orangery dates from 1804.
