Construit dans les toutes premières années du 19e siècle, témoignage des techniques de la chaux sous l'Ancien Régime, le four est en moellons de granite, adossé à un relief de terrain, présentant un mur de façade d'une dizaine de mètres de développement, ouvert en demi-lune sur une cour de service. La cuve du four, haute de 7 à 8 mètres, offre un diamètre de 4 mètres. La porte d'accès à la base du four est encadrée par deux guérites à usage de réserve pour le chaufournier. Le four est encore entouré de sa jannière, lande d'ajonc à usage de combustible.

History
Built in the very first years of the 19th century, a testimony to lime-burning techniques under the Ancien Régime, the kiln is constructed of granite rubble stone, set against a sloping terrain, presenting a façade wall of about ten metres in span, open in semi-circular form onto a service courtyard. The kiln bowl, seven to eight metres high, has a diameter of 4 metres. The access door at the base of the kiln is framed by two small guard shelters for use as a store for the lime-burner. The kiln is still surrounded by its jannière, a gorse-covered wasteland for use as fuel.
