La tradition veut que cette maison du 17e siècle, très défigurée, ait été occupée par Richelieu lors de sa nomination comme évêque de Luçon. A l'intérieur, est conservée une cheminée peinte du 17e siècle. Cette cheminée peinte en trompe-l'oeil imitant le marbre ou la serpentine est ornée d'un tableau représentant un canthare en bronze posé sur une table recouverte d'une nappe, accosté de rinceaux et contenant un bouquet de fleurs au naturel de chaque côté.

History
Tradition has it that this greatly disfigured 17th-century house was occupied by Richelieu upon his appointment as bishop of Luçon. Inside, a painted 17th-century fireplace is preserved. This fireplace, painted in trompe-l'oeil imitating marble or serpentine, is adorned with a painting representing a bronze cantharus placed on a table covered with a tablecloth, flanked by scrollwork and containing a bunch of flowers in their natural state on each side.
