History
Unique witness to the Mannerist architecture of the late 16th century at Fontenay-le-Comte, highly influenced by Serlio's models. The ordered façade on the street is ornamented with vermiculated rustication, the Doric-order door is Mannerist in inspiration. Inside, the stairwell is lined with a vault entirely in ashlar; the fittings of the apartments have disappeared.
