Citée dès 1030, l'église de Parné est donnée au milieu du 11e siècle à l'abbaye Saint-Nicolas d'Angers. L'église primitive du 11e siècle (une nef et un choeur en petit appareil) a été agrandie par la construction de deux chapelles formant transept à la fin du 15e siècle. La tour du clocher a été édifiée dans la première moitié du 12e siècle (clocher entièrement en pierre, recouvert d'une pyramide en pierre). History
Mentioned as early as 1030, the church of Parné was given in the middle of the 11th century to the abbey of Saint-Nicolas of Angers. The original 11th-century church (a single nave and a choir of small masonry) was enlarged by the construction of two chapels forming a transept at the end of the 15th century. The bell tower was built in the first half of the 12th century (bell tower entirely in stone, covered with a stone pyramid). Enlargement at the end of the 19th century: enlarged choir, creation of chapels with absidioles in the transept. During work in 1952, discovery of wall paintings of the 16th century on the two walls of the nave. The north chapel houses a sculptured group representing a Descent from the Cross by the Laval sculptor Biardeau (1608-1671).
