L'ancien prieuré des Nobis est un des monuments clefs de Montreuil-Bellay. Ses origines très anciennes en font un des plus vieux établissements monastiques de la vallée de la Loire. Affilié en 1675 à la réforme mauriste, il fut reconstruit dans un style proche de celui de l'abbaye de Saint-Maur-de-Glanfeuil. L'église Saint-Pierre devait être achevée au milieu du 12e siècle. Au 15e siècle, construction du bas-côte nord. Restauration de l'église au 17e siècle après les destructions des guerres de religion. Au 18e siècle, reconstruction totale du monastère par les religieux de la congrégation de Saint-Maur. History
The former priory of the Nobis is one of the key monuments of Montreuil-Bellay. Its very ancient origins make it one of the oldest monastic establishments of the Loire valley. Affiliated in 1675 to the Maurist reform, it was rebuilt in a style close to that of the abbey of Saint-Maur-de-Glanfeuil.
