Historique

History
Built between 1796 and 1827 and heightened shortly after 1859, it is the emblem of schist constructions in the Ségré region. Of tower type and slender, 9 metres high, it has three storeys served by a narrow staircase following the curve of the wall, its Berton wings allowed it to turn three pairs of millstones until around 1930. A diesel engine was subsequently adapted to the mill, replaced around 1950 by an electric motor. Non-restricted in 1936, the mill crushed only grain for animal feed. Since 1978, the ecological revival has allowed the restoration of the wings and the revival of the elements preserved by a descendant of the Hoinard millers. The cap is turned by a winch arranged on the third storey; on the second storey turn the millstones, driven by the pinion and three gears; and on the ground floor are found the bolter and the bagging equipment. Running on the wind since the refection of the shafts and the wings (André Croix, millwright carpenter, 1992), the mill has benefited since 1991 from a cereal quota which allows it to produce white bakery flour, the only one in the department of Maine-et-Loire.
