L'ensemble du territoire de la commune d'Herbignac a été un centre important de production de poteries dont on fait remonter les origines à la période gallo-romaine. Il ne reste que peu de vestiges des nombreux ateliers, les fours à pots abandonnés et croulant sous les ronces. Une intervention de sauvetage archéologique menée au village de Landieul a permis de dégager un ensemble composé de deux fours à pots, construits en 1945.

History
The whole territory of the commune of Herbignac was an important centre for pottery production whose origins are traced back to the Gallo-Roman period. Few remains survive of the numerous workshops, the abandoned pot-kilns crumbling under brambles. A rescue archaeological intervention carried out at the village of Landieul made it possible to unearth a complex composed of two pot-kilns, built in 1945.
