History
The sugar refinery was installed in the buildings of a Carthusian monastery for men founded in 1322 and sold as national property in 1791. The proprietor's residence, known as château Gamot, is the former guest house. The company Gamot frères had established itself there to manufacture sugar during the 19th century.
